            Artist Statement

"The elegance and power of works done in the classical tradition have always moved me, thus I have taken that approach in my own works. I enjoy the challenge of simulating a three dimensional impressionistic-realism on the canvas; and create, not just a photographic depiction of my subject, but rather a painters' representation. For me, in my earlier days as an artist, it used to be about painting my subject. Now it is about the luscious beauty of the paint itself as well as the subject".

"With a well trained eye and through careful observance, I am constantly measuring and studying my subject, and portray the optical illusions created from light reflecting on a surface, or the abstract forms created by mysterious transparent shadows. I employ the use of dark and light contrasts, as well as cool and warm tones playing off each other. I am passionate about exaggerating and pushing color and reflections beyond what is usually seen by the average person. My intention is to evoke a feeling- response in the viewers of my work, and give them a glimpse into my imagination and perceptions as the artist.
